In an interview with Yale Environment 360, Koh, a researcher at the University of Adelaide, explains how drones ”“ also known as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) ”“ can help monitor protected areas, collect data in inaccessible regions, and even deter poachers. “In just the last couple of months,” he says, “there has been tremendous interest from universities and other research institutes that finally see the value in this technology.”
