Adam Spencer is a documentary filmmaker and co-president of Filmmakers for Conservation, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people use their films and media to conserve the natural world. Spencer met Edgar Sermeño Durand, the environmental advocate featured in his video, "Ashaninka: The Fight for Land and Rights," at a dinner in Maryland. "I was incredibly moved, especially after he showed me all of his video footage," he said. "I felt like we had to get his and the Ashaninka's story greater exposure."
