Paul J. Crutzen is an atmospheric chemist who won the 1995 Nobel Prize in chemistry for his research on ozone-depleting chemicals. From 1980 to 2000, he led research at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz, Germany, and he continues to publish on the interaction between humans and the environment.
