A new video by the producers of “The Story of Stuff” explores a toxic byproduct of the electronics revolution — the 25 million tons of e-waste created when
computers, cellphones, DVD players, and other gadgets are discarded. The animated video, “The Story of Electronics: Why ‘Designed for the Dump’ is Toxic for People and the Planet,” is hosted by Annie Leonard and focuses on the short life cycle of today’s electronic products and its effects on industry workers and the environment. The video is a sequel to the popular 2007 video “The Story of Stuff,” which became an online sensation, attracting more than 7 million people within two years.
