Josh Goldman precisely what Josh Goldman, co-founder and CEO of Australis Aquaculture, is doing, employing some of the most sustainable aquaculture techniques in existence today. In an interview with Yale Environment 360, Goldman discusses the technology behind his aquaculture operations, including a widely praised “closed-containment” system that enables his company to rear 1.2 million barramundi a year in Massachusetts while continually recirculating water and collecting virtually all the fishes’ waste for fertilizer. Goldman also discusses how his company, Australis Aquaculture, could be a model for an aquaculture industry that must clean up its act if it hopes to sustainably produce the majority of the world’s seafood in the coming decades.
