Nicola Jones is a Yale Environment 360 contributing editor and a freelance journalist based in Pemberton, British Columbia. With a background in chemistry and oceanography, she writes about the physical sciences, most often for the journal Nature. She has also contributed to Scientific American, Globe and Mail, and New Scientist and serves as the science journalist in residence at the University of British Columbia.
